George is rightly concerned about #baboonpawty taking place so close to #NipClub Monthly's African Safari pawty and the impact it will have on fundraising. Fundraising has been pretty anemic as it is (times are hard for everyone) and this sort of thing doesn't help.

I feel that it's fine for anipal groups, including NCM, to have pawties with themes of their choice for their own purposes and goals. I also feel that trying to avoid scheduling similarly themed pawties close together, as much as possible, will help the goals of both pawties by avoiding theme burn-out.

We will make an extra effort here at NCM to avoid scheduling similarly themed pawties close together in the future as much as possible. Major holidays may not be possible, and that's understandable. I hope you will all help with that by letting me and Mattie know of upcoming pawty themes others are having as soon as you find out about them. In turn, we're adding our theme information to the AT Events Calendar generally 2 to 3 months in advance so that anyone an see it, and of course, we're happy to answer questions about it any time.

As a group, we do this by creating interesting graphics, avatars, menus, games, etc. that our staff can use for and at our pawties so that people are attracted to the pawties. The more interest there is in the pawty and the larger the attendance, the better the chance is of getting more donations to help animals. At this point, there are many pawties of all kinds in the anipal community in any given month. One significant thing that sets us apart to help reach our goal of helping our animal charity is our unique creativity.

I ask that when NCM staff are planning other pawties that occur prior to the NCM theme, they refrain from using the original resources created for NCM such as graphics, avatars, and the like for other pawties. Doing so lowers the uniqueness of NCM pawties and has the potential to lower interest and therefore donations. After the NCM pawty, reusing the graphics and other creative items is possible depending on the circumstances. We all like to share as much as we can. Just ask, as sometimes the creators ask us not to use them for anything else. Please also refrain from recruiting for other pawties while using the #nipclub hashtag. It can confuse people about what groups are throwing what pawties and what the purposes of those pawties might be.

  1. All this sounds very reasonable to me, The problem is trying to get people to schedule their pawty with the AT. Maybe I'll try to run some tweets now and then reminding pals of the calendar and to contact MattieDog.
